How to be more productive: Proven approaches

One day in January, I woke up and decided that I didn't want to feel that way anymore, ever. So, I started experimenting with different ways to get organized. It took a while, but I figured out what worked. Now I'm on top of things and actually enjoying my days. Today, I'm excited to share how I did it, and I hope it can help someone else feel less overwhelmed and more on track.
So.. "How to be more productive?" and "How to get the most out of my time, energy, and focus?" Let's try to find the answers.

To get something done, psychologists say you need to understand what you will get out of doing it. So, your first step is understanding how your life will change when you become more productive.
Being productive has many benefits. First, it helps you get things done faster and smarter, giving you more time for fun, relaxation, family, and more.
When you're productive, you don't have to worry as much about work piling up because you're on top of it. This can make you feel calmer and happier, preventing burnout.

For time management, the Pomodoro Technique is a game changer. Work focused for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. It's simple but effective, and it keeps you refreshed and engaged.
Prioritizing is all about distinguishing what's urgent from what's important. The Eisenhower Box is perfect for this, helping you decide which tasks to tackle, schedule, delegate, or drop.
Goal setting is about making your goals achievable. Set SMART goals: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Break big goals into smaller, manageable tasks to create a clear path forward.
To minimize distractions, start by identifying what distracts you – whether it's social media or noise. Tools like app blockers and noise-canceling headphones can help you stay focused. Set specific times to check email or social media to keep distractions at bay without feeling disconnected.
Tools to enhance productivity

Another time management app I like is called Timemator. While both Timing and Timemator excel at tracking how you spend your time on your Mac, they offer different approaches to improving productivity.
Timing focuses on providing a detailed analysis of your activities across apps, documents, and websites, highlighting where your time goes during the workday. Timemator, on the other hand, focuses on automating the tracking process, relying less on manual entry and more on automatic calculation of actual time spent working. It's especially useful for those who are deeply involved in their tasks and forget to track their time.
Focused Work: Work in timed intervals
Whenever I want to really get the work in, I choose Focused Work. It’s an app that allows you to start focus sessions and work in timed bursts. This makes it that much easier to concentrate on your tasks and your mind not to wander.
Focused Work has several types of focus sessions, which you can customize to match your work style. You can create block lists of websites and apps to reduce distractions, and the feature I personally love the most is called Scratch Pad — it’s a small note-taking space where you can jot down ideas or thoughts you have during your focusing time. This means you don’t have to worry about forgetting an important task or an inspired concept just because you are immersed in something else. Simply write it down and return to it after your focus session!
Prioritizing
Taskheat: Learn to prioritize tasks
If you don't prioritize effectively, you'll waste a lot of your valuable time, energy, and attention on tasks that aren't super important, that are too much of a drain on you, or that aren't as urgent as others. In essence, if you don't prioritize effectively, you'll never be as productive as you want to be.
